Been with O2 for a few years now - switched after nightmares with TalkTalk. Very happy - consistent, never any problems. In-laws also switched over, and found them very helpful when they moved house, too.

Where do I start. Cancelled my broadband with Sky in October. They sent me a MAC code and I moved to the Post Office for phone and broadband. Sky Broadband was slow and at times upload was quicker than download. I regretted moving to Sky so after my contract was up with them I moved to the Post Office. Obviously if I am sent a MAC code and also a letter saying 'sorry you are leaving' a person would imagine that the broadband was well and truly cancelled, since I am now receiving broadband from the Post Office. Wrong! Not with Sky. I was shocked and angry to discover that I am still paying for the BB (they cancelled my phone no problems) Having phoned up and having been pushed from pillar to post Sky deny having any information about me cancelling my account. They are not going to refund my 'excess' payments, this is my money they took off me. They are still going to bill me until 24th December, and they also have the nerve to say that my phone will be cancellled 10 days after that date, and that I must apply for a MAC code if I want to move elsewhere. They obviously think I still have broadband and phone with them. What utter rubbish! Had enough and I am going to make a complaint to Ofcom. Stay away there customer service is awful If it is not on the script it does not exist, there website is designed to confuse. I am fully prepared to go to court to get my money refunded and also other costs involved. Stick to TV, BB is obviously too much for Sky.

Title: Excellent!
Been with Sky on their unlimited (LLU) package for a couple of months. It has been absolutely brilliant. Great speeds, no slowdowns, even at peak times and truly unlimited.

The only negative thing I can say is that their customer service can be a bit hit and miss. Sometimes you get a customer service agent that knows what they're talking about, but sometimes you get someone who is a bit clueless. On top of this their customer service number is an 0844 one, which can cost quite a bit on a long call.

Overall though I'm very happy.

Just the worst customer experience I have ever had. I spent a fortune trying to get through to their "customer service".

I wouldn't wish sky on my worst enemy. No-one know what they are doing. The tv & broadband are fine as long as you don't have to deal with anyone in customer service. I was charged for a month even though they hadn't switched on my broadband. They lied to me that I could install a satellite dish in my estate, and they wouldn't acknowledge properly our letters saying that we wanted to cancel at the end our contract!

No to repeat myself, but it was one of the worst customer experiences of my life.

Been with O2 for 2 years now and only ever had 2 drops and even then only for a few seconds and back on again, never had an outage.

Speeds are consistent and I get approx 5-6Mb slowest was 3Mb for a day.

Don't use the ISP email, can't see the point, its google and hotmail for me. Downside to O2 is they don't do any webspace, not even a token 100Mb, but hey there are plenty of free hosters out there so not such a baddie.

Never had to phone CS because the connection is just great.

Highly recommended.

First: I only get 2/3 of the speed that I've had with every broadband provider up until Sky.

Second: it is the most unstable internet I've EVER come across, constantly disconnects many times a day, VERY annoying when your half way through playing an online game or a download and get booted off. Never had problems with any previous providers. Now before you think I'm an idiot who can't configure a PC I'd like to point out I am a certified I.T technician with 9 qualifications, this is not a configuration or indoor problem..

Third: their support staff are helpful but don't seem to do more than go through the script of most likely problems. After 6 months of ringing with the same problem I expected more of a helping hand for my premium and a fix for whatever the cause.

Fourth: because Sky became responsible for the physical line from BT as part of the contract they didn't seem to care when a tree landed on one of the poles, We had to cut it down ourselves before it gave way taking the line along with it. BT openreach came out next day when we had similar problems with another ISP due to the surrounding environment.

Fifth: we signed a 12 month contract for unlimited broadband at a certains price, then 6 months in they up the price by £5 for the same service which we had no choice but to pay.

I'm glad we're near the end of the agreement, I will never be returning to Sky Broadband. I'm sorry I just can't say anything good about the Internet service, I just hope its stays connected long enough for this review to send.

UPDATE- The speed issue was because of their dlm error protection was maxed out on a faulty line, after months of pestering them with this issue their gave in and sent BT openreach round twice to correct the problem/s. They replaced a faulty master socket, a faulty box on one of the poles and a faulty line outside. It seems sky try to avoid sending them out if they can, They even tried to get us to pay for a contracter to replace the master socket and PAY for it, BT said it was their property and they were wrong.

Sky Broadband was unlimited but my experience was complete BS, I originally got 4.4Mbps which is what my line takes, 3Mbps was the speed for the most part due to the dlm on and off constantly. Getting through to them was always difficult and they always seemed to give simple advice like filters over and over costing over £20 just on one day of calls.

I have now joined BE who use ADSL2 and give flawless 5.6k on this line, very cheap, state they won't increase price and unlimited. Even rung US to see if everything was ok first day, It feels like heaven....
