I am not sure why there is such a negative impression of this provider. I swopped from Onetel (Rubbish of late) to TalkTalk.

I have been impressed by the time to connect my service, the speed albeit only 2MB but that is because I am a long way from the exchange, customer services and technical support. Most of all I am very happy with all I get for the amount I pay.

I was cold called by Talk Talk and persuaded to move onto their Broadband. WHAT A MISTAKE! I called within the 7 days to cancel but they didn\'t and now I have to disconnect it, get another ISP and PAY ?50 setup fee!

DON\'T EVER GO ONTO TALK TALK.

You will just regret it.

Title: mmmmmmmmm
I have just come out of a 18 month contract, with talktalk... and am very happy for it to end.
on joining talktalk , I had to wait 3 months for connection to broadband which i suppose I did take on the chin...

speed - they told me that I was receiving the maximum speed my line could handle 2.3meg but my line test showed 6.7meg.. and i only live 3 minutes walk from the telephone exchange , it\'s right outside my house ... so was a bit dubious of this statement made by talktalk...
I\'m now with virgin and getting 5meg and double the upload,

customer service is good better than virgin

it\'s just lie\'s and mis-information I can\'t stand

BEWARE of this company-ISSUES-service sold as a bundle but billed separately at a higher rate - to make matters worse they billed for broadband for 3-4 months before they were able to get it working! Despite numerous discussions and many promises to reconcile the billing with services rendered they REFUSED to do do as they said (rectify billing irregularities)-Disconnected us WITHOUT notice (then wrote to say they might disconnect us)-I wrote to them to request a public disclose of under the data protection act-they did not reply, and now have debt collecting agency chasing for incorrect amount- YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED - STAY AWAY

Title: No problem
TalkTalk3 for me has been great value for money. For approx.?20 pm I get all calls, international as well, plus broadband. Connected six months ahead of time. One blip I had dealt with by courteous and helpful staff from India. (Depends how you approach people).
Their recommended security F-Secure extra ?2+ p.m., I find is better than MCAfee. Only prob. is webcam connection - video excellent, sound appalling. Until we catch up with Europe and fibre optics there can never be a first class service. Until then TalkTalk has been excellent for me.

I was very worried after all the poor reviews but switch from BT 3 weeks ago was seamless. Initial slow broadband speed was resolved after calls to 1st line and then 2nd line support. Both calls handled quite efficiently. They tweaked the line so that I am at the speed I was getting with BT, 6mb+/s for most of the time. I\'d have to go for BT\'s Option 3 at circa ?20.00 a month to download at the amount I require with features that I do no need. Talk Talk is a good value no frills package with the land line. I\'m not sure it\'s possible but I think our landline is a little clearer too - probably my imagination.

TalkTalk are very good for value, speed and reliablility in my opinion, have not yet had one problem. Some of the people who post on here realy do not know what they are talking about for example FARAH, 400kbps is pretty good its in bytes per seccond not bits so that would tell me you have 4MB connection speed if you have a noisy line you would not get that speed. TalkTalk are very good for value, reliability and their modem is reliable (mine is connected via a Linksys WAG54GS wireless router). If you have the Smartax Modem I would reccommend changing the conneciton to always on to keep the connection alive and enable UPnP. Highly Reccomended

After numerous problems getting set up, faulty modem, parts going \"missing in the post\" etc, I am now left with a noisy landline, slow broadband, poor connection & I am unable to use the phone & internet at the same time. I had decided to grin & bear it as the service is cheap, but the last straw was when I did a speed test.... 400KB!!!! Yes, thats less than half a MB!!! I couldnt bear the thought of another phonecall to another person with a strong accent, so I sent them a strong e mail. The next day someone rang & left a message on my (noisy) landline ans machine, saying they would e mail me. Weeks on Im still waiting. Not happy.

I\'ve been trying to help someone who\'s not computer literate at all and who has been told to try Talk Talk for both phone and BB-bad mistake!this person has Vista system.
Talk Talk techy side told me they do NOT support Vista, wireless or not, but their ordering line tells you different. Talk Talk installation cd won\'t load but gives a non supporting Vista message. After ringing Talk Talks techy line again I was told to ring the routers help line-its either that or try downgrading to XP-no probs there.
They tell lies when ordering, their techy side is pure rubbish-a complete waste of time.
DO NOT USE!

All I wanted to do was to upgrade my residential account to a business account. After 40 minutes of wasted time being passed between SIX departments I was told that this was not possible. When I asked why the reason given was that TalkTalk Business and TalkTalk are separate companies! They have a link to the business web site from the residential site; they share the same name; they are both owned by Carphone Warehouse but you can\'t upgrade to a business account without first closing the account (and paying a ?70 penalty if it\'s before contract end) and starting from scratch. Does makes sense?
