new" proposal for dealing with the problem of illegal downloads from broadband ISP customers. Users that fail to heed an initial warning and continue their illegal activity could face "
speed bumps", such as restrictions to their broadband service speeds.

Broadband ISP PlusNet has issued a new update on the status of its BT 21st Century Network (21CN) trials, which includes preparations to launch speeds of up to 24Mbps via ADSL2+ technology. The provider reports that 800 people (customers and staff) are now testing the faster services and, despite some problems that have now been largely resolved, all appears to be going well.

UK cable giant Virgin Media has revealed that its next phase of expansion will include the opening of more high street retail stores across the country, tripling its outlets from 27 to 70 within just 12 months.
