BBC Trust has announced that Project Canvas, an open standard that aims to deliver broadband TV (IPTV) services directly into the Home via special Set-Top-Boxes (

Independent testing house P3 Solutions has named T-Mobile as the top UK provider of Mobile Broadband services. The Q1-2009 tests were conducted during peak usage hours in 16 UK cities for all major mobile network operators. The results found T-Mobile to be fastest for web browsing, uploading files to the web and delivered the fastest average performance for email.

Broadband.co.uk has released its latest anecdotal monthly broadband speed testing results for May 2009. It shows that the average UK broadband download speed has now reached 4.248Mbps, which is up from 4.137Mbps in April. The average upload speed also saw a tiny increase to 0.431Mbps.

The BBC has raised concerns after it learned that BT's Total Broadband traffic management platform was being used to throttle the speed at which customers view web based video sites, such as its own iPlayer service and YouTube. Customers that take BT's cheaper Option 1 deal will find their speeds to streaming video sites reduced to less than 1Mbps between the hours of 1700 and midnight.

AdMob has revealed that Apple's popular iPhone now accounts for an estimated 43% of mobile Internet usage/traffic.
