The Register reports that Phorm has setup a new survey on
Toluna, which asks respondents what kind of incentives would most encourage them to sign-up with their 'Webwise' system. Naturally the most crucial option ('
I don't want Phorm!') is notable by its absence:
Other carrots suggested include:
* An upgrade to a faster broadband package at no extra cost
* £1 off monthly broadband bills
* £1 cashback per month
* A cut of advertising revenues
* A free premium technical support line
* Free music download vouchers
* Free anti-virus software
* Parental content controls
Phorm also included an option for its anti-
phishing technology, although they already promote that as part of the service so weve left it off. Most of the other options are nothing special, except for the '
cut of advertising revenues' one, though how big of a cut is not specified.
Sadly our searches were unable to find the exact location of the survey on Toluna, which leads us to believe that it has been removed. Phorm works with ISPs to monitor what websites you visit for use in targeted advertising campaigns.
