Demon Internet

Summary: A sad state of affairs...
February 22nd, 2009 (Last Edited: February 22nd, 2009)
I have been with demon for 10 years or so and over the last coupl eof years their service has become dreadful! Last year I changed from HomeOffice8000 to Home8000 trying to save a little cash and subsequently tied myself in for a further years contract. Shortly after that I had intermittant service for 4 weeks and Demon just denied it was happening. Most of the time I had no BB at all. Over the last year I think there are more than a dozen occasions where receiving email has been impossible and the actual speed has been around 512mb to 2 mb. They can't blame BT and cables as my wife has a BT business BB on the same cable and her BB flies!

When you call their customer service line they use a well rehearsed line where they are polite but actually do nothing whatsoever to help you! I always end up feeling frustrated and as if they are just making the right noises to make you go away.

Well, the contract is up and now I can move on (even though when I rang for my MAC key they told me the systems were down and to ring back Monday!). I had great service for years but Demon really is a VERY poor ISP these days. I suspect they won't be about for too much longer with the recession biting and people wanting value for money.
