UK ISP Syscomm Launch 330Mbps G.fast for West Midlands SMEs

Coventry-based business ISP Syscomm has today become the latest to launch a new range of 330Mbps (50Mbps upload) capable G.fast broadband packages, which will be aimed at SMEs across Coventry, Warwickshire, Leicestershire and Birmingham.

Openreach has decided to extend the UK ISP trial phase for their new Single Order Generic Ethernet Access (SOGEA) product until 1st October 2018, which will one day enable consumers to buy a standalone FTTC “fibre broadband” (VDSL2 or G.fast) line without the voice (phone) service.

Cable ISP Virgin Media Business has launched a new UK Voom Fibre+ bundle of unlimited 350Mbps broadband, landline phone and a 4G Mobile SIM with 32GB of included data, which is being targeted at small and medium sized businesses that want a single solution from one provider.

Isle of Man Set for 13% Coverage of 1Gbps Broadband by End of 2018

Manx Telecom‘s roll-out of a 1Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) ultrafast broadband ISP network on the Isle of Man is making progress. The operator now expects to reach 13% of local premises (4,600 homes and businesses) by the end of 2018.

The latest Q4 2017 Telecoms Market Data Tables from Ofcom have confirmed that the United Kingdom is home to a total of 26 million fixed home and small business broadband lines (up by +546,000 since Q4 2016), with 53.4% being faster full fibre or hybrid-fibre based (FTTC, FTTP/H, Cable etc.) services.
