Cable ISP Virgin Media has reduced the contract length of their broadband and phone bundles from 18 to 12 months, while also continuing to offer their “RED HOT SALE” discount that reduces the prices by almost half for the first six months of service (note: Line Rental is still payable at £15.99 a month or the equivalent of £10.66 when pre-paid).
We received word of this pending change, which was due to be introduced yesterday, earlier in the week but it didn’t actually appear on their website until a little later in the day. The move brings their dual-play bundles into line with their standalone broadband packages.

However it should be noted that the big ISPs seem to enjoy playing musical chairs with things like vouchers, credit offers and contract lengths. In other words we wouldn’t be surprised if the 18 month term returned alongside a different offer in the future.
