Fibre optic network builder Cityfibre has confirmed that Stirling will shortly become their 4th “Gigabit City” project in Scotland, thanks to a £1.7m deal to support the roll-out of a new FTTP based Public Service Network (PSN) that will later be extended to local businesses.

It’s been nearly a year since BT first soft launched their new ‘BT Call Protect‘ service to tackle nuisance calls (here), which allows their home phone customers to divert unwanted calls to a junk voicemail box. The Connecting Devon and Somerset project has revealed that their Phase 1 roll-out of “superfast broadband” (24Mbps+) services with BT (Openreach) will miss its target by far more than the “circa 1,700 premises” that was claimed in December 2016; it has actually fallen short by c.11,000.
