Consultancy firm FarrPoint has today published new independent analysis, which claims that the United Kingdom’s economy could gain a boost of more than £8.6 billion if gigabit-capable broadband connectivity was universally available to every single home and business – helping to create or sustain more than 156,000 jobs and support over 13,000 businesses.
The Independent Networks Co-operative Association (INCA) and Point Topic have today released their 2026 report into the impact of alternative “full fibre” (FTTP/B) broadband networks in the UK. Over a month has now passed since broadband and mobile providers Virgin Media and O2 (VMO2) closed their respective customer community forums to new postings as part of plans to merge and upgrade the platform (here).
