Some of the customers who have recently been migrated from broadband ISP Brsk to Youfibre, which reflects the Substantial Group’s (Netomnia) recent decision to merge their two retail providers (here and here), are now complaining of being hit by billing / invoicing errors (e.g. inflated bills) and other issues after making the transition.

Network operator nexfibre, which shares some of its parentage with its ISP partners Virgin Media (O2) and giffgaff, plan to expand on their original commitment to offer as many as 1,000 youth centres across the UK access to their full fibre network for free. But following the planned acquisition of Netomnia (here), they now expect to reach a further 456 centres.

At the end of last year network provider PlatformX Communications (PXC), which is a trading name of UK internet provider TalkTalk Communications Limited and sells wholesale solutions to ISPs (inc. other network providers), began to make CityFibre’s Business full fibre (FTTP) broadband services available to their partners. PXC has now expanded this and added the Ethernet Flex product.

The Starlink service from SpaceX, which offers ultrafast broadband via a global network of satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO), has cut the monthly prices of their residential plans for UK consumers by -£10 for the first six months of service. But the discounted price is only available to new customers who order by 30th April 2026.

The UK telecoms and internet content regulator, Ofcom, has today revealed its final decisions on how they regulate the wholesale markets that enable landline and mobile calls (inc. calls to 070 numbers) – covering the period from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2031, as well as removing an access‑related obligation that has applied to BT.

The wholesale division of broadband ISP Virgin Media Business (VMB / VMBW) has today announced that their multi-million-pound network investment and upgrade programme, Project Spark, has already helped accelerate 10Gbps service delivery by up to 40 days and reduce Ethernet lead times by 32% year-on-year.

Network operator CityFibre, which has so far deployed their 10Gbps capable full fibre (FTTP) broadband ISP network to cover 4.7 million UK premises (4.5m RFS), has partnered up with BUKO Digital to trial a new traffic (road) management technology to support the delivery of their publicly subsidised Project Gigabit works in West Sussex.

As expected, Sky (Sky Broadband, Sky TV etc.) and NOW TV have today followed up on last month’s announcement, which revealed their plans for combining Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu into a single subscription (here), by confirming that customers on eligible subscriptions can now get access to the HBO Max streaming service.
