The latest
Moneysupermarket survey of 2,165 British adults conducted in March, which was carried out by Opinium Research, has revealed that 55% of the population (26 million people) believe 2Mbps will be too slow for a national minimum broadband speed. A further 22% felt that universal broadband would leave some consumers with a limited choice in packages.

The results from last month’s survey reveal that the vast majority of readers (74.8%) have never been warned by a broadband ISP about their usage (bandwidth / data) consumption. It also found that nearly half (45.4%) would switch ISP if they received such a warning from their provider and a further 41.1% would at least consider switching.

Broadband ISP PlusNet has posted an interesting traffic (data usage) graph from a couple of weeks ago, which shows a record high usage of the BBC's online TV service (iPlayer) from roughly 2,000 of the ISPs customers. The biggest spike was on Thursday, when a record high usage figure of 973,73Mbps was recorded. Popular shows such as The Apprentice, football and the recent Malaysian F1 Grand Prix are largely to blame.
