Broadband Satellite ISP Ethnet, a Hughes based virtual ISP (vISP), has revealed that it will be launching a new range of 12 services in the UK during January 2011. Naturally the packages aim to deliver faster speeds (up to 8Mbps) at lower prices, starting at £25.00 +vat per month for a basic 1Mbps download (128Kbps upload) option with 2GB (GigaBytes) of monthly usage allowance.

The Country Land and Business Association (CLA) has launched an Internet Charter of 10 simple rules, such as keeping emails and attachments small, which are designed to help make internet surfing on slow rural Narrowband Dialup connections more bearable.

Popular ISP Be Broadband UK has today officially launched its new range of home phone (BE Landline) packages and bundles to both new and existing customers. In addition the internet provider has also made its 'up to' 44Mbps BE Line Bonding package available to the public.

The Managing Director (MD) of UK ISP Aspire Internet, Tim Longton, has apologised to both his retail and wholesale customers today after its broadband service vanished for well over one week because of a "commercial contractual" dispute with the providers former supplier; Entanet UK. Sadly a delay in its efforts to re-connect the service have continued to cause frustration for customers.

UK ISP BT Retail has just announced that customers who take a bundle of its more traditional broadband and calls (BT Total Broadband Options 2 and 3) will be offered the chance to upgrade to BT Infinity, the company’s 'up to' 40Mb FTTC fibre optic based "super-fast" broadband service, for no extra monthly cost when it becomes available in their area.

Phone line rental can also be added to the package for an extra £9.49 per month.

Mobile operator Orange UK (aka - Everything Everywhere) has refreshed its range of Home Broadband and Phone packages. The current raft of four options has been replaced by three and form part of Orange's effort to improve their network image and customer service perception.

The governments communications minister, Ed Vaizey, has warned that the cost of delivering a minimum broadband ISP download speed of 2Mb (Megabits per second) to everybody in the country by 2015 - Universal Service Commitment (USC) - will be "at least double" the previous administrations best estimate.
