Ofcom's latest Telecommunications Market Data Tables has revealed that the UK is now home to 19,920,000 fixed line broadband ISP connections and 5 million dedicated Mobile Broadband users.

The new boss of UK mobile operator Three (3) has warned that one or more of its rivals, which would most likely include O2 and Vodafone, will attempt to delay the auction of superfast Mobile Broadband friendly spectrum (800MHz and 2.6GHz) "for as long as possible" because they are "incentivised differently to defer [it]".

Ofcom has announced that it will officially move forward with plans to launch White Space wireless broadband (IEEE 802.22) technology in the UK during 2013. This uses the spare radio spectrum that exists between digital terrestrial TV channels to deliver internet access.
