The UK government’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has issued a generally flat response to the Welsh Affairs Select Committee, which in September 2012 released a report that criticised the broadband strategy in Wales for being “behind schedule” and called for the new networks to be “implemented without delay“.
The situation is similar to how the DCMS responded to July’s controversial Lords Inquiry into the UK government’s superfast broadband strategy (here), which called for a more competitive national fibre optic broadband network to be built but was flatly rejected on practically all fronts.

Sadly the government’s response to the Welsh inquiry is even more mundane and mostly reiterates its existing policy. As a result there’s no point in us even attempting to summarise what they said as it’s nothing new. But if you still want to waste half an hour of your time then here’s the link.
