Broadband ISP Alncom has announced that they’ve begun the next phase of expanding their gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across their home town of Alnwick, which is now working to cover the Barresdale, Windsor Gardens, Cedar Grove and Fairfields areas (parts of these are already live).

Given that today is Halloween, it seems only fitting for Openreach (BT) to announce that they’ve just deployed their gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network to the village of Pluckley in Kent (England), which has been named by the Guinness World Records as the most haunted village in Britain.

On top of that, customers of the STREAM service have also just gained access to 7 “new” linear channels (already available on TV360).

Two engineers working for UK broadband ISP Quickline, which is rolling out a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network to 96 rural locations (55,000 premises) across North East England, have been praised after their quick-thinking saved the life of a man who fell into the River Trent.

Virgin Media and O2 have reportedly entered “exclusive talks” that could see them selling off a big stake in the UK’s largest mobile tower network to GLIL Infrastructure. The deal is said to value this part of their business at around £2.5bn, with any proceeds helping to fund their full fibre (FTTP) broadband and 5G mobile roll out.

Broadband ISP BT has today announced that they’ll start deploying their Internet Protocol (IP) based home phone service, Digital Voice, across the Greater London area between November and December 2023. This follows previous roll-outs in the East Midlands, Yorkshire and the Humber, Northern Ireland and the North West.

Network access provider Openreach has begun a new “hyper-care” trial that is designed to help improve the handling of Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband orders that have been in the tail (waiting to be delivered) for more than 100 calendar days, which will essentially put those orders through a special review.
