The results from 450 respondents to our latest survey reveal that just under 36.6% thought their ISPs telephone based customer support was GOOD, which dropped to just 27.5% for email support. Readers sighted "
unhelpful replies" (45.7%) as being the most frustrating aspect of their ISPs support, while fewer felt that "
slow or no replies at all" (29.7%) or "
costly voice calls" (24.4%) were bigger frustrations.

ISP Tiscali UK has reported its latest set of quarterly results to 31st March 2009 (Q1), which shows a continued decline in broadband (ADSL) subscribers from 1.768m in Q4-2008 to 1.7m at the end of Q1-2009. This is a more significant reduction than the minor decline of -6,000 seen between Q3 and Q4 of last year, though between Q2 and Q3 of 2008 they lost -64,000.

UK ISP O2 ( Be Broadband ) has released its latest quarterly results to the end of March 2009 (Q1), highlighting a continuation of its rapid broadband subscriber uptake by going from 340,866 in Q4-2008 to 404,484 now. However the growth of around +63,618 new broadband users represents a rough 10k per quarter slowdown on past results.

Business Software Alliance (BSA) has released its sixth annual global IDC piracy study, which reveals that over a quarter (27%) of software on PC's in the UK is now illegal. Industry losses due to software piracy in the UK amounted to £1.49 billion in 2008 – the highest level ever. Nielsen Online reveal that Facebook is now the most popular website in the UK, which has increased its market share from 7.2% at the same time in 2008 to 12.7% now (+5.6%).
