Mobile operator EE UK has today announced that Pay Monthly Mobile customers of their service can now take a Microsoft Xbox Game Pass Ultimate with “unlimited gaming data” from £21 a month (£31 with the video data pass) and they can also have an Xbox Series X video gaming console for just £10 upfront.

Internet provider Plusnet has finally restored their embattled UK email service after a week of chaos, but its long-term future may now be in doubt after the ISP placed the service “under review.” A number of customers have allegedly also been told by the provider’s support staff that the email platform would close in 2022.

The latest data gathered by Numbeo, which is a crowd-sourced global database that examines the cost of living, has surveyed the cost of fixed broadband ISP provision across 109 countries and found that the United Kingdom ranked as the 39th most expensive country, with an average monthly cost of £30.87.

Ofcom has published their latest Q2 2021 (calendar) consumer complaints study, which saw TalkTalk come top of the naughty table for gripes about their fixed line home broadband and phone services. Meanwhile, Virgin Media took the most flak for Mobile and Pay TV, although overall complaints were down.

ISP and mobile operator Vodafone UK has today published their latest quarterly results (financial Q2 FY22), which reveals that their fixed broadband base added another +22,000 customers (vs +29k in the previous quarter) to make for a total base of 962,000. But their mobile base sat unchanged on 16,994,000.

A new survey of 294 UK estate agents, which was conducted by telecoms equipment manufacturer Omdia on behalf of Huawei, has found that the desire for “high-quality broadband” continues to be a significant factor for home buyers and access to gigabit-capable “full fibre” (FTTP) ISP connections seems to be particularly important.
