Network operator Openreach has today announced that they’ve extended a number of special discounts to help support ISPs as they migrate customers off the old Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). The previous offers were due to end on 31st October 2026 and will now run all the way until the final switch-off date on 31st January 2027.

Internet, mobile and phone provider Vodafone UK has today soft launched a new range of fixed line “Pro 4 Broadband” packages, which will harness their next‑gen tri-band WiFi 7 router (Ultra Hub 7+) and CityFibre’s national full fibre (FTTP) network to deliver 8Gbps speeds via 50G PON technology. The operator has also launched a 5G social tariff from just £11 a month.

Broadband provider Olilo has informed ISPreview that they’ve launched an Autonomous System Number (ASN) and IPv6 Provider-Independent (PI) sponsorship service, allowing individuals, businesses, hosting providers and smaller network operators to obtain their own internet resources without needing to maintain their own RIPE NCC LIR relationship.

Broadband and mobile providers Virgin Media and O2 (VMO2) have today provided a brief update to ISPreview on the status of their popular customer community forums, which have been offline since the start of this year for a major platform upgrade (originally they were also going to be merged but this was later abandoned).
