Pure fibre optic ISP Hyperoptic, which offers home broadband speeds of up to 1000Mbps across growing parts of several major UK cities (particularly London), has introduced a “no contract” option for new customers who take one of their unlimited usage Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) based packages.

Internet provider BT Business will today introduce a new offer on their standard broadband (up to 17Mbps ADSL2+) products, which means that new customers will benefit from being able to take the first three months of service for free (available until 30th August 2015).

Cable operator Virgin Media has quietly dropped the price of their entry-level Big Connection package, which is now offering unlimited superfast broadband speeds of 50Mbps and free weekend calls from £5 per month for the first 12 months (£17.50 thereafter).

BT has tweaked some of their Internet and mobile package features and prices by adding 1000 minutes to the BTMobile 2GB tariff, cutting the cost of their superfast Unlimited BTInfinity (FTTC) service to just £12.50 a month and returning Sainsbury’s vouchers worth £75 to £125 to their home broadband deals.

UK ISP Sky Broadband will later today enhance their on-going offer of 6 months half-price Sky Fibre Unlimited (up to 38Mbps FTTC), which reduces the monthly cost from £20 to £10 per month, by removing the £30 one-off activation fee for existing customers who want to upgrade.

The word went out this morning that the standard price of BT’s superfast broadband (up to 76Mbps) BTInfinity Option 2 (FTTC) package has increased by +£2 to £30 per month, which is in addition to the cost of Phone Line Rental from £16.99 per month (or £15.29 if you pre-pay for a year in advance).

New customers who sign-up to PlusNet’s superfast broadband (FTTC) capable packages should note that the operator has reduced some of their standard prices for the first 6 months of service and, much more strangely, dropped the upload speed of their “Unlimited Fibre” option from 19.5Mbps to just 2Mbps.

Budget ISP TalkTalk has announced that their top Plus TV bundle of unlimited broadband, phone (anytime UK calls), premium TV content (YouView) and a free mobile SIM is being reduced from £20 to just £10 per month for the first 18 months of service. A £100 Love2shop voucher has also been thrown in.

Budget Internet provider TalkTalk has announced that their ‘up to’ 38Mbps capable unlimited “Superfast Fibre Broadband” (FTTC) package, which is currently priced at just £5 per month for the first 12 months of service (£15 thereafter), has now added free installation into the mix (saving another one-off fee of £25).

Budget ISP Fuel Broadband will today reduce their £5 per month standard unlimited broadband (up to 16Mbps) bundle to being free for the first 6 months of service (includes free UK evening and weekend calls), although customers still need to take Phone Line Rental for £16.40 per month on top. But the offer is also masking a price hike.

UK ISP PlusNet has once again moved to take advantage of the looming bank holiday weekend by offering their standard ‘up to’ 17Mbps unlimited broadband and included weekend calls package free for the first 12 months of service (normally £9.99 per month) with £75 Cashback, which is available to order until 26th May 2015.

Internet provider Pulse8 Broadband has informed us that they’ve stopped offering superfast “fibre broadband” (FTTC) packages with capped usage allowances and have instead upgraded to offer an unlimited service, which will come at no extra cost. On top of that they’re one of the few FTTC providers to offer a monthly contract.

Mobile operator EE has announced that their standard tablet plans have increased in price by £1 per month, but as compensation all 4GEE Extra tablet plans will be reduced by £2 until 2nd June 2015. On top of that they’ve reintroduced the 4G pay-as-you-go limited edition SIM, which gives you 100GB of Mobile Broadband data free for 2 months.
