Sky (Sky Broadband) will today cut the price of their increasingly popular unlimited web-based Internet TV and Movie (video streaming) service, NOW TV, to just £1 for the first month of their Entertainment Pass (returning to £6.99 thereafter); only if taken by new customers.

UK ISP PlusNet has once again moved to take advantage of the looming bank holiday weekend by offering their standard ‘up to’ 17Mbps unlimited broadband and included weekend calls package free for the first 12 months of service (normally £9.99 per month) with £75 Cashback, which is available to order until 26th May 2015.

Internet provider Pulse8 Broadband has informed us that they’ve stopped offering superfast “fibre broadband” (FTTC) packages with capped usage allowances and have instead upgraded to offer an unlimited service, which will come at no extra cost. On top of that they’re one of the few FTTC providers to offer a monthly contract.

Mobile operator EE has announced that their standard tablet plans have increased in price by £1 per month, but as compensation all 4GEE Extra tablet plans will be reduced by £2 until 2nd June 2015. On top of that they’ve reintroduced the 4G pay-as-you-go limited edition SIM, which gives you 100GB of Mobile Broadband data free for 2 months.

The cost of domestic grade business connectivity is falling after BT Business slashed the price of their broadband and phone bundles, with some packages reducing by almost half over the usual 24 month contract term and others seeing a more general reduction of -£5 per month off the rental price.

The aptly named ISP Satellite Internet, which makes use of the SES (ASTRA) platform to deliver ‘up to’ 20Mbps Satellite broadband services across the United Kingdom and Europe, has announced that customers on selected packages will be able to save £229 thanks to their offer of free equipment.

UK ISP Sky Broadband has announced that their standard ‘up to’ 17Mbps unlimited broadband and free weekend calls package has been reduced in price, making it free for the first 12 months of service (£7.50 per month thereafter). On top of that new customers will also be able to benefit from a £100 M&S e-voucher.

We’re no fans of the musical chairs approach to voucher discounts, which seem to change weekly, but BT has done an unusual new twist. New customers who join one of their BTInfinity (FTTC) “fibre broadband” packages will now also get a £125 Prepaid Visa Card, which reduces to £75 for standard broadband (ADSL) subscribers.

Some of BT’s consumer TV customers have written in to report that the ISP appears to have added five new premium channels to their service (418 Comedy Central Extra, 431 MTV Music, 490 Lifetime, 491 H2 and 542 Movies 24) and this seems to compliment a wider package refresh. TalkTalk customers should also see the channels.

Internet provider TalkTalk has announced that existing customers of their various home broadband, phone and or TV bundles can now take a special mobile SIM-Only tariff that includes unlimited data (Mobile Broadband), texts and calls for “Britain’s lowest price” of £12 per month on a 30 day contract.

Consumers who subscribe to Sky Broadband’s standard unlimited usage and phone bundle, which is currently being offered for 12 months at half-price (£3.75 per month), now also have the option of taking either an included £100 voucher (M&S, Tesco or a Prepaid Mastercard) or a Samsung GALAXY Tab 4 (7″ screen) device.

As a result of this a number of new bundle discounts have been launched for new customers, which will be available to order until the end of June 2015. Prices now start at just £2.55 per month for the first 12 months of service.

Cable operator Virgin Media has for just a few days sweetened the current deal on their top triple-play 152Mbps broadband, TV and phone (Big Kahuna and Big Daddy) bundles by giving new subscribers a FREE Samsung Galaxy table (worth £139.99). But the offer is only available until 22nd April 2015.

One of the biggest hindrances to taking a Satellite broadband connection is the high cost of hardware and installation. The UK Government is currently mooting a subsidy scheme to tackle this, but in the meantime one ISP has said that they’ll offer free installation and activation (saving £150) to those in rural areas.

Customers of EE’s mobile and fixed line home broadband service now have yet another bonus to keep them hooked, a free portable Smartphone charger called “EE Power” that can either be recharged at home or swapped for a fully-charged replacement bar at any EE store nationwide (apparently the swaps are “unlimited“).
