Doncaster based ISP Origin Broadband, which operates over the financially troubled Digital Region network in South Yorkshire, has begun offering free installation and three months half price service in a bid to encourage more customers to adopt its superfast broadband (FTTC) packages.

Virgin Media’s mobile division, which is aptly called Virgin Mobile, has today announced the launch of a new tariff (Big Data and Texts) for its Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) customers that offers unlimited data and 300 texts for a top-up of just £10. But beware the expiry date.

ISP BT Retail has quietly revamped its triple-play broadband, phone and television bundles with the new introduction of a FREE YouView IPTV box (normally £299) that includes 500GB of storage for video recording and effectively appears to replace their old BTVision solution.

ISP BT Retail has quietly upgraded its top 100Mbps capable fibre optic superfast broadband BTInfinity package to offer UK internet download speeds of up to 160Mbps (Megabits per second) from £35 inc. VAT a month to home consumers (upload speeds have also boosted from 15Mbps to 20Mbps).

The Post Office has informed ISPreview.co.uk of their intention to freeze the price of Home Broadband and Phone (Line Rental) services for “at least” the next 12 months, which is a direct response to BT’s recently announced 6% price hike that will take effect from 5th January 2013.
